Harry Powell is an independent consultant in X-ray data processing, and offers services in programming crystallographic methods, diffraction data analysis and education in these fields. He has over 20 years of experience in developing and maintaining crystallographic software, and has been working in and teaching crystallography since the 1980’s.
He is respected in the global crystallographic community, having served two terms as Chairman of the International Union of Crystallography’s Commission on Crystallographic Computing (CompComm) and nine years as Chairman of the European Crystallographic Association’s Special Interest Group in Crystallographic Computing (ECACOMSIG). He is currently a consultant to CompComm and the Secretary of ECACOMSIG. He has been instrumental in setting up and running their training workshops in Crystallographic Computing since 2002.
As well as English, he can communicate well in French and Italian, and understands German and Spanish.
